Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions little league practice schedule games

When can my child start T-ball?

T-ball starts at age 4.

What if my child has never played before? Can he/she still participate?

Clifton Little League's baseball program is designed to help teach the fundamentals of the game, and to build skills as players progress and grow older.
We help teach novice players and develop new skills in seasoned players.

All players play in every game, regardless of skill level or ability.

I just registered my child. What happens next?

  1. Once the registration period closes, we can then determine how many players are registered for each division, how many teams each division will have, and create the game schedule for the entire league.
  2. After registration closes, we will have Player Evaluations, which will help coaches determine player skill levels.
  3. The next step is the draft, where players will be assigned to teams. Each team's coach will then contact parents to let them know the next steps going forward, including practice schedule, game schedule, and uniform distribution.

What equipment does my child need to play?

Every player will be provided with a uniform consisting of a shirt, pants, and hat.

Each team will provide a bat, helmets, and catcher's gear.

T-ball players may wear either sneakers or cleats. All divisions above T-ball must wear cleats.

If your child wishes to use their own bat or helmet, you can purchase your own.

For T-ball, helmets MUST have a face guard. A face guard is optional for other divisions.

  • Bats used in the T-ball, JD, International, and Majors divisions must meet USA Baseball standards. Bats must feature the USA Baseball logo shown here.
  • 50x70 and Juniors divisions can use bats meeting either USA Baseball or BBCOR standards.
  • Senior division bats must meet BBCOR standards.

Full information about bat requirements can be found on Little League's website.

Equipment not meeting these guidelines will not be permitted to be used during practices or games.

When are the games played?

Our schedule is varied throughout the season. Teams will have an average of 2 games per week. Games are played Monday through Saturday. Weekday games begin at 6PM. Saturday games are played throughout the day, starting at 10AM.

Each team's specific schedule will be determined after the registration period closes.

What is the practice schedule?

Practice schedules are determined by each team's coach, based on field availability.
